Show Home

An exploration into congregate living by people with disabilities and the professionals who support them.

Fall 2022

Open Heart meets with people who access services at Mainstream Niagara for 12 weeks of arts workshops.

Instigated by storyteller and performer, Carlyn Rhamey, Show Home combines Carlyn’s experiences as a Direct Support Professional with performances created by people with disabilities, most of whom live in long-term care.

We are using this opportunity to build accessibility into our practice in all stages of the research/creation. We continue to explore Relaxed Performance to create a theatrical experience without barriers, giving audiences and performance collaborators alike the permission to enjoy their experience without having to stifle who they are.
